Rosenheim City Committee

History

Rosenheim city is located south-east of Munich, the capital of Bavaria and has had a partner city agreement with Ichikawa since 2002.

Main activities

We plan mutual exchanges of middle school students through sports and citizen's friendship delegations. The Ichikawa Board of Education mainly manages these which take place every year. When a group of Ichikawa citizens visit Rosenheim, they hold a Japan Festival and Ichikawa holds a German Day which many people have come to enjoy whenever a Rosenheim delegation comes to Ichikawa.

Two Resenheim students visited Ichkawa@

Two students, coming from Rosenheim and traveling in Japan, visited Ichikawa on July 15, 2018. They went to see the Nakayama Hokekyoji and the Higashiyama Kaii Memorial Museum. They visited the Fukishima Primary School, where the summer festival was being held. They were presented sets of Yukata surprisingly. They wore them immediately and joined to the Bon dancing.
It seemed like very impressive visit to Ichikawa for them.

Social situations and educational problems in Germany

Mr. Weitl married Japanese woman and he is blessed with two sons, the sixth grader in an elementary school, and a third grader.
If a political conservative swing is becoming remarkable even in that a German school education system is being improved these days although it talked about the difference in Japan-Germany education, and Europe Moreover, although there was often a child's attending cram schools in Japan, talk that homework must come out mostly very and must manage the homework of a lot of at each home was impressive in Germany.

Ms. Horner visited Ichikawa

Ms. Ursula Horner is a Journalist, living in Rosenheim and stoping by Ichikawa on June 12, 2016 during her worldwide travel, South America, Hawaii and Singapore. It was her first visit to Japan. She was so impressed in Japanese foods which use fresh materials and are served in many small plates at one time since foods for apetizer, main dish and desert are served in each big plates accordingly in Germany.
We showed her patchwork quilts which our members made of Japanese Kimono and got on to the sbject of the recent hot issue, refugees from Siria at its coffee brake. Rosenheim locates close to Austria and is the first big city when they gwalkedh into Germany, so that the city is flooded with them. She hesitated to make comments about their situations since it is so miserable.
In this afternoon, she wore Japanese Kimono for her first experience helped by IIA members and looked like happy.
She left for the next destination, Singapore next week with a lot of good memories in Ichikawa though it was the short stay.
